The Garden in
Wicker Park

Join us in tending the Gardens in Wicker Park. Come and gain hands on gardening experience throughout the season. We have 7,000 square feet of gardens: xeriscape, antique rose, shade, carpet beds, ornamental grasses, etc. Hope to see you!

MARCH - NOVEMBER --Saturdays10 am - 1 pm

Join us as student or teacher as we prepare the garden for a new season in the spring, tend the garden during the summer season, and ready the garden for winter in the late fall.

Each season brings new tasks and also new beauty to appreciate.

PLEASE CONTACT US TO CONFIRM the Date and Time of Your Participation.

Bring Gloves, Pruners, and Trowels.

Please schedule your time in advance by e-mailing us or contacting Doug Wood at 773.278.9075 if you are planning to attend. It is extremely helpful for us to be able to plan tasks by understanding how many will participate.

Please bring GLOVES, TROWELS, PRUNERS if you have them, and something to kneel on during your tending. Each week, a list of goals will be sent to those who sign up.

Call for Volunteers!
We need volunteers to assist with garden tending and watering.

Please contact us at for more information.

Last year the garden was expanded.  Look for the new additions near the field house, in the fountain gardens, and in the main garden along Damen Ave. View photos here.

Come join us for hands-on garden tending on Saturdays and see first hand what goes in the ground.
