The Wicker Park Garden Club will present guided tours of The Westfall Gardens (8,000 sq. ft) in Wicker Park (1425
N. Damen) and of selected private gardens (approx 3 per month) located in the
historic Wicker Park neighborhood. You will see large gardens designed to complement some of Chicago’s most beautiful Victorian
homes to small elegantly designed courtyard gardens. You will find some
of the gardens to border on the eccentric; others extremely elegant and
inspiring. The gardens feature plantings appropriate for full shade
designs to full sun exposures, water features, and exciting and unique
garden hardscape materials. Each garden social event features different gardens.
We end our socials
with an old fashioned garden social with great food and conversation!
Many of the gardens were designed by the homeowners. Meet the gardeners,
learn how they designed their gardens, learn horticultural techniques
that the gardener's employ in their gardens, and then enjoy refreshments
and meet other gardeners from around the Chicagoland area.
The Garden Socials are limited to 75 people and begin outside the field
house in the park, 1425 N. Damen. Street parking only.
